Join our creative zine-making workshop for children, led by two artists! During this 60-minute session, participants will explore storytelling by creating their own short stories and transforming them into handmade zines (small DIY booklets).

Children will learn how to develop simple narratives, express their ideas through words and drawings, and assemble their own mini books step by step. The workshop encourages imagination, creativity, and hands-on making in a fun and supportive environment.

All materials are provided, just bring your curiosity and creativity! :)

The workshop is led by two creatives: Ana Rui, a children’s book illustrator, and Monika Lukomska, an illustrator and storyteller. Together, they bring a blend of visual art and narrative experience, guiding children through both the creative writing and zine-making process in an engaging and supportive way.

FAQ – Creative Zine Workshops for Kids

  • Our workshops are designed for children aged 6–10 :)

  • The workshop lasts 60 minutes and costs €20 per participant.

  • Participants will explore creating short stories, illustrating them, and assembling their own handmade zines (mini books). It’s a fun way to combine storytelling and art!

  • We provide all the materials needed for the workshop. Just bring your imagination.

  • The workshops take place in the charming English bookstore Catnap Books (Kruisweg 61, 2011 LB Haarlem), in a cozy studio at the back. If you have any questions or need help finding us, please contact info@moniadesigns.com.

  • Tickets can be purchased directly on our website.

  • Parents are welcome to stay and watch, but we encourage children to explore and create independently.

  • No experience is needed! We guide each child step by step, making it easy and fun for beginners.
